You must make them through the Yosemite Association by phone or mail: The Ostrander Lake Ski Hut is operated for the National Park Service by the Yosemite Association, a non-profit organization dedicated to the support of Yosemite National Park through a program of visitor services, seminars, publications and membership activities. The hut is kept open and staffed during the winter to encourage ski touring and snowshoeing. Travel to the hut by overland vehicles is prohibited. The trip to the hut is approximately 10 miles. All routes to the hut require considerable stamina and cross-country skiing or snowshoeing experience. The trip is not for novices. Departures for the hut should be made by 9:00 a.m. Pre-Season Reservations: Fees and Contacts for reservations Reservations After December 1: There is room at the hut for 25 people. Large groups are welcome, but the number of people in one party is limited to 15. The following are provided: bunks with mattresses, limited cookware, wood for heating and solar generated electric lights for evening (there is no other electricity at the hut).
